In order to performance manage and evaluate the work that we do within the CLAHRC CP, we have developed a set of key performance indicators (KPIs) which allow us to link our activities to ‘process and outcomes-based’ metrics. We have developed a software tool based on the KPIs so that we can capture these measurements on an ongoing basis along the timeline of the project.
The KPIs:
- Building research capacity;
- Developing knowledge exchange capacity within CLAHRC and beyond;
- Developing NHS and industry collaborations and commercialisation of ideas;
- Facilitating and effecting creation of evidence-based service improvements;
- Having an impact on clinical practice, service delivery, service utilisation and the policy cycle;
- Having an impact on health and social care outcomes;
- Increasing awareness by researchers of local and national policy and practice in the creation of research questions;
- Collaborating with policy-makers, commissioners, service leaders and researchers in the research, from process from design to evaluation;
- Engaging patients, service users, carers and the public in research from design to evaluation of implementation;
- Producing high quality research outputs.
- Having long-term benefits on the economy and society.
