Health Services Research Network Symposium 2014

19-20 June 2014, Nottingham Conference Centre

The Health Services Research Network (HSRN) Symposium presents the leading edge of health services research in a multidisciplinary programme that includes research presentations and posters, plenaries from research and service leaders, and commissioned themes.

Delegates will be there from a broad range of organisations: NHS and social care bodies, patient and citizen groups, universities and research institutes, industry and commercial knowledge consultancy, central and local government and the third sector. Researchers, service users and carers, service leaders and policy makers are expected to attend the two days on 19-20 June 2014.

You are invited to submit abstracts for presentation and/or poster display. We are keen to receive abstracts on the following themes, suggested as guidance only:

  • Methods
  • Commissioning
  • Productivity
  • Access and equity
  • Quality
  • Self-care

  • Improvement Science

The Health Foundation invites abstracts on the theme of Improvement Science, that is new approaches to achieve measurable and timely improvement in care processes; development of the underlying theory and evaluation of methods to improve quality, safety and value; implementation of evidence-based healthcare.

The HSRN welcome quantitative and qualitative research and work across all health care professions including nursing, pharmacy, medicine, management, physiotherapy, midwifery and all relevant disciplines including sociology, economics, epidemiology, health policy, statistics, psychology, history and more.

The scope of the Symposium covers all aspects of services including primary care, community care, social care, hospital care, health promotion and disease prevention, through curative services to long-term, rehabilitative and custodial care.

The deadline for submissions is 14 February 2014.

Round 5 of the NIHR /HEE Clinical Academic Training and NIHR/HEE Healthcare Science Fellowships

The CAT schemes offer doctoral and post-doctoral level funding for Nurses, Midwives and AHPs (with Pharmacists eligible for Doctoral funding) whilst the HCS schemes offer doctoral and post-doctoral level funding for clinicians within the area of Biology, Physiology and Physics and Engineering.
